record a life’s rich tapestry by inviting you to share memories, dreams and experiences.
Brushstrokes are replaced by speech capturing emotion and humour and leaving a legacy for future generations.
I contact all family members who would like to be involved and from questions they provide I construct a skeleton interview and send it to the sitter prior to our meeting so they are fully prepared to flesh it out when I come to record them in the comfort of their own home.
“The interview was delightful. Phoebe put me at my ease immediately and I was able to recall many interesting moments in my life prompted by her excellent questions. The family were so happy with the result.” (Hazel White)
“An invaluable and unique experience. Phoebe is an expert in this field, incredibly perceptive, extremely sensitive and just lovely. The Portrait not only records a lifetime that otherwise might just disappear, it actually helped to bring me closer to my Mum.” (Patrick Barlow)
“There is no more effective way to record the memories of a relative or friend than to employ Phoebe to create a ‘Spoken Portrait’. She brings a combination of perception and charm to bear during her interviews, putting her subjects at ease and encouraging them to recall events and feelings which will enable later generations to understand more about their forebears. Having retained her services in relation to three of my relatives, I cannot recommend her expertise more highly.” (Sir Laurie Magnus)
"The recording is great! You do such a great job of guiding Dad through the notes we prepared despite his best efforts to repeat himself! It's going to be really nice to have this to listen to in the future. The recording definitely captured the essence of Dad with all his eccentricities." (Guy Corlett)
"My father in law died recently but I wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed listening to the interview you did 10 years ago. It has been a great solace to the family."
